A locals favorite drive thru (only) that makes a basic burger really well. Quick, fresh and good.
Are they even still open? I've stopped by 4 times this past month, and driven past and l haven't seen anyone inside or out for that matter. I'm wondering if they have closed down, or doing re-training with the recent reviews they've been given. Regardless, I still enjoy picking up food there, and hope they are not gone.
Must have drove past this place a hundred times. Finally decided to stop by today. My only regret, I didn't stop here sooner...the nostalgia was awesome! These burgers taste like they should, before all the big burger chains took over. If you are craving a burger reminiscent of a bygone roadside burger joint era, this place is it. The King Charley was tasty with fresh beef, lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles. Not overloaded, but just the right proportions of each ingredient. Of course, the American cheese added a nice salt to the juicy patties. Bread was nice and soft, not too thick. Onion rings and fries were on point with a nice crisp. Try the fry sauce, you'll love it. Make the trip here, you won't be disappointed.
I'm still loving this place. Whenever I'm in the Lake Stevens/Snohomish area on Hwy 9 this place calls out to me. Maybe it's the colorful paint job on the building and matching picnic tables or just the old school drive in concept, I usually try to stop by. I love that it is a locally owned small business so that adds to the appeal. Maybe it's the name? Is King Charley a real person? A beloved pet? Is there a court for the king? Are the workers Knights and Princesses? Any way you look at it, it works. I had the King Charley's Special burger today (double patties) and it was delicious! They prepare it right after you order and it is hot and fresh. Friendly staff and quick service. Keep it up guys, you're doing great!
